Lonely Island
Motion installation, 2017
During my days of studying abroad, I realized that my memory of Taiwan was fading away because of the passage of time. I couldn’t even tell the difference between my imagination and the reality, which caused me to question my memory. I thus overlapped the sparking neon lamps with the photos I took before left Taiwan. Through the motion lights of breathing and heartbeat, the work symbolize my vague memory of hometown, and the combination of cold images with warm lights also reflects itslonely situation in the world.
